este proyecto nació el 2021 bajo el pseudónimo de pangui y con la colaboración conceptual de la fauna, una amiga tarotista. es una baraja basada en el tarot de marsella, pero diseñada bajo la interpretación de dos talquinas, chilenas, latinoamericanas.
cambiamos los personajes de los arcanos mayores con personajes de la cultura popular local, y los grupos de los arcanos menores se convirtieron en objetos de nuestro imaginario: el crin, el mate, los cuchillos y la madera - acompañados por flora típica de la región.
dibujé cada una de las setenta y ocho cartas a mano con lápiz grafito. tras escanearlas, se imprimieron 100 copias en la ciudad de talca. han sido vendida en todo el continente - siempre acompañadas por una publicación digital que diseñamos en conjunto con explicaciones y propuestas de juegos para la baraja. this project was born in 2021 under the pseudonym "pangui" and in collaboration with fauna, a tarot-reader friend. it's a tarot deck based in the marseille tarot, but designed under the eyes of two residents of talca, two chileans, two latinoamericans.
we changed the characters of the major arcana for characters of our local culture, and the minor arcana were transformed into elements of our world: horse-tail-hair cafts, mate, knives and wood. they are also accompanied by our local flora.
i derew each of the 78 cards by hand with pencil. after scanning them, we printed 100 copies here, in talca. they have been sold in the whole continent, always hand in hand with a digital publication that we designed together, in which we explain the meaning behind the elements of the cards and different games are proposed.
